My Experience*

I have a great deal of experience working with adults of all ages, children and young people, adapting my approach for younger clients using creative approaches to help them explore their feelings. I also work with couples who are experiencing difficulties within their relationship.

Relationship counselling focuses on helping couples communicate their experiences and feelings, and work together to resolve issues between them.

My experience includes the following areas; bereavement; relationship difficulties; anxiety and depression; low self esteem and confidence; work problems; stress; post-natal depression; historical and sexual abuse; health problems; domestic violence; anger management, rape & trauma. I have worked in the voluntary sector, working for Derbyshire Rape Crisis, Cruse Bereavement Care and Hadhari Nari Project supporting women experiencing domestic violence.

Supervision & Training

I possess a Post Graduate Certificate in Supervision which was a Person-Centred course endorsed by the BACP.

Person-Centred supervision encompasses the philosophy and theory of person centred therapeutic practice. I feel passionately that this style of supervision encourages the therapist to be open and confident in bringing all aspects of themselves and their work to supervision, thus developing personally and professionally. I believe a therapist needs to feel totally relaxed with their supervisor to get the maximum benefits out of their collaborative relationship.

As human beings we all make mistakes and these often lead to the greatest learning outcomes. I aim to offer a space where practitioners can trust that more difficult aspects of their work can be explored without judgement.
